Shiv Sena (UBT) has announced a protest at Jantar Mantar on Sunday against India’s Asia Cup 2025 clash with Pakistan, scheduled to take place in Dubai.
The party’s Delhi unit chief, Mangat Ram Munde, confirmed the plan in a written statement.

Earlier in the day, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray criticised India’s participation in the match, questioning the government’s stand on ties with Pakistan.
“Our Prime Minister said blood and water cannot flow together. Then how can blood and cricket flow together? How can war and cricket happen at the same time?” Thackeray asked.
He alleged that the government was “mixing politics and business with patriotism.”
According to him, “They have turned patriotism into business. The business of patriotism is only for money. They are going to play the match tomorrow because they want all the money that will come from it.”
The Indian cricket team is set to face Pakistan on Sunday in their first international encounter since the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor.
In the run-up to the game, opposition parties had pressed for a boycott, but the Centre allowed the team to participate, stating there was no objection to India playing Pakistan in multi-nation tournaments.
